What year levels can apply?
Testing is available for Year 7 entry (sat in Year 6), Year 9 entry (sat in Year 8), Year 10 entry (sat in Year 9), and Year 11 entry (sat in Year 10). There is no intake at Year 8 or Year 12.
What types of GATE programs exist?
24 schools statewide offer Academic, Languages, Arts, and other specialist programs. Perth Modern School is the only fully selective academic school in WA.
How are places allocated?
Places are ranked by Total Standard Score (TSS) within each program and year group. Minimum scores vary by school and are only published after the placement process for the relevant year is complete.
