Question 2 — Medium
The tour guide asked the hikers not to ___ when she was explaining the history of the site. Which spelling is correct?
Answer: 'Interrupt' is the correct spelling. It contains double 'r' in the middle: in-ter-rupt. The prefix is 'inter-' (meaning between). 'Interupt' has only one 'r'. 'Interupt' also has only one 'r' and drops the second 'r'. 'Inturrupt' misspells the prefix ('intur-' instead of 'inter-').
