Question 1 — Easy
An L-shaped room has sides labeled (2x) m, 5 m, x m, 3 m, x m, and 2 m. The perimeter is 26 m. What is the value of x?
Answer: Perimeter = 2x + 5 + x + 3 + x + 2 = 4x + 10. Set equal to 26: 4x + 10 = 26, so 4x = 16, x = 4.
Question 2 — Medium
A triangular prism models a section of river bank. The triangular face has base 6 m and height 4 m. The prism length is 10 m. What is the VOLUME?
Answer: Volume = cross-sectional area × length. Area of triangle = ½ × 6 × 4 = 12 m². Volume = 12 × 10 = 120 m³. Option A (240) forgets the ½: 6 × 4 × 10 = 240. Option B (60) uses half of the length: 12 × 5 = 60. Option C (12) gives only the triangular face area, not multiplied by the prism length.
Question 3 — Hard
A rectangle has a perimeter of 34 cm. The length is 12 cm. Find the height.
Answer: Height = (34 ÷ 2) − 12 = 17 − 12 = 5 cm
